About Me...
My passion for music and theatre stems from my involvement in repertory theatre musicals and plays in my home city of Newcastle. I was the wild-child lead singer of Novocastrian hard rock bands Bowser and Unleashed, a support act for Australian and international bands such as Steeleye Span, XTC, The Cure, The Radiators, Mi-Sex, Richard Clapton, Rose Tattoo, Jimmy and the Boys, Uriah Heap, Motorhead and Midnight Oil.
My professional theatre debut was as the title character in Hunter Valley Theatre Company’s production of the rock opera Tommy. While touring QLD and NSW alongside Margret Roadknight in the Paul Robeson musical tribute Deep Bells Ring, I relocated to Brisbane to join Opera Queensland’s Young Artist Program. During a 5-year period, I participated in more than 40 Opera Queensland operas, concerts, and State tours, and I became a regular featured artist with the Queensland Pops Orchestra. I was a cast member and Phantom understudy in the original Australian production of Phantom of the Opera.
